24: Live Another Day (2014)

24: Live Another Day (2014) was a limited event television series that aired on Fox from May 5 to July 14, 2014. As activists gathered outside the United States Embassy where President James Heller was staying, CIA agents in London apprehended Jack Bauer, a former Counter Terrorist Unit Agent and wanted fugitive. Kate Morgan, a CIA agent who had recently been forced to resign because of her husband’s conviction, managed to regain her position when she discovered that Jack was planning to infiltrate the agency in order to reach Chloe O’Brian, a former CTU Data Analyst turned hacktivist. With the help of his friend Belcheck, an ex-Serbian Mob enforcer, Jack succeeded in breaking Chloe out of interrogation. Despite initially being wary of Chloe’s loyalty, Jack followed her to Open Cell, a group of hackers focused on revealing government secrets and promoting freedom of information. There, he revealed his true objective: finding Derrick Yates, a former Open Cell member suspected of plotting an assassination on President Heller.

The plan is uncovered to involve drones as an unmanned aerial vehicle is used to attack British and American troops. USAF First Lieutenant Chris Tanner, the pilot, is wrongly arrested for murder. Jack and Chloe discover that Margot Al-Harazi, a designated terrorist seeking revenge for her husband’s death, has obtained Yates’ device. Despite their failed attempts to capture Margot’s daughter Simone, Jack manages to enter the US Embassy to analyze Tanner’s flight key and expose the imminent threat. In a race against time, Jack locks himself in a room with three hostages to transmit the data to Open Cell’s leader, Adrian Cross. Before the upload is complete, Marines storm in but CIA agent Kate Morgan intervenes and takes Jack into custody. Meanwhile, in the President’s quarters, Chief of Staff Mark Boudreau expresses concerns about Bauer being labeled a terrorist and prepares an extradition agreement with Russia. Suspecting that dementia has affected President Heller’s decision-making abilities, Mark forges his signature and vows to protect Audrey from any further harm caused by Bauer. As events unfold, it becomes clear that Jack was right all along when Margot releases a video threatening London with attacks from six US drones if Heller doesn’t turn himself in.
