28 Weeks Later (2007)

28 Weeks Later (2007), a post-apocalyptic horror film directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, follows the story of Don and his wife Alice, along with four other survivors, as they take refuge in a cottage on the outskirts of London during the initial outbreak of the Rage Virus. However, their safety is short-lived when they hear a terrified boy pounding at their door and Don makes the decision to let him in. Unfortunately, this leads to the infected following the boy to their location. Despite Don’s attempt to convince Alice to leave the boy behind, she refuses and he ultimately abandons them, escaping on a boat while Alice, the boy, and the remaining survivors are presumed dead. That night, Tammy and Andy sneak out of the safe zone and return to their former home.

They collect old family photographs and stumble upon Alice, who is delirious and semi-conscious. The three are discovered by American soldiers and brought back to District One, where they are separated into isolation. Scarlet, a U.S. Army medical officer, tests Alice in a quarantine room and discovers she is an asymptomatic carrier of the Rage virus. Don makes an unauthorized visit to Alice, pleading for her forgiveness. As they kiss, Don becomes infected with the virus. Meanwhile, Scarlet rescues Tammy and Andy, recognizing that their genetic makeup may hold the key to a cure. Don’s infection starts a domino effect of rapid rage among the survivors. In the midst of chaos, American soldiers struggle to distinguish between panicked survivors and rampaging infected, leading them to shoot anyone in sight.
