3 Days to Kill (2014)
3 Days to Kill (2014) is an action thriller film directed by McG and written by Luc Besson and Adi Hasak. American CIA agent Ethan Renner, along with his team, is on a mission to capture the Albino, lieutenant to an arms trafficker known as the Wolf. The Wolf plans to sell a dirty bomb to terrorists at a hotel in Belgrade. However, their plan goes awry when the Albino recognizes and kills one of Renner’s fellow agents, who was disguised as a chambermaid. While chasing the Albino, Renner becomes dizzy and only manages to injure him before blacking out. The Albino escapes. Meanwhile, Vivi Delay, an elite CIA assassin also known as a ‘Top Shelf agent’, has been personally instructed by the Director to eliminate the Wolf. As she observes the operation, she suspects that Renner may have unknowingly seen the Wolf.
Renner begins experiencing severe coughing fits which are later diagnosed as terminal glioblastoma cancer that has spread to his lungs. Given only a few months to live, he is determined to repair his strained relationship with his estranged daughter, Zooey, and possibly his ex-wife Christine. Despite keeping his dangerous job a secret from them for years, he returns to Paris where they all lived separately. To his surprise, an African family has taken up residence in his apartment. After being informed by the police that he cannot evict them until after winter, he awkwardly reconnects with Christine and confides in her about his terminal illness. She agrees to let him spend time with Zooey while she travels for work.
