A Bug's Life (1998)
An American animated comedy film, A Bug’s Life (1998), was produced by Pixar Animation Studios for Walt Disney Pictures. It follows the story of a colony of ants, led by the elderly Queen and her daughter Princess Atta, who reside in a dry creekbed on ‘Ant Island’. The ants are forced to give food every summer to a gang of grasshoppers, headed by Hopper. One fateful day, Flik, a clumsy inventor ant, accidentally ruins their offering with his grain harvester. When Hopper finds out, he demands double the amount as compensation. Flik suggests enlisting bigger bugs’ help to fight the grasshoppers, prompting Atta to send him away. Flik then heads off to ‘the city’, which is a heap of trash under a trailer. There, he mistakes a group of jobless Circus Bugs for warrior bugs and they mistake him for a talent agent. They agree to accompany him back to Ant Island.
During their welcome ceremony, the Circus Bugs and Flik realize that there have been misunderstandings between them. As they try to leave, a bird begins pursuing them. While escaping, they save Dot, Atta’s younger sister, from the bird and earn respect from the ants. In order to keep enjoying the ants’ hospitality at Flik’s request, the Circus Bugs continue pretending to be ‘warriors’. Upon learning that Hopper is afraid of birds, Flik gets an idea to scare away the grasshoppers with a fake bird driven by a crew. Meanwhile, Hopper reminds his gang about the large number of ants and warns them that rebellion is a possibility if they are not kept in line. The ants finish constructing the fake bird and celebrate its completion. However, during the celebration P.T.Flea shows up and reveals that he wants to hire back the Circus Bugs, exposing their true identities. This leads to Flik and the Circus Bugs being exiled by the ants, who desperately gather food for a new offering. When Hopper returns and sees their mediocre offering, he takes over control of the island.
