A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2: Freddy’s Revenge (1985) is a supernatural slasher film directed by Jack Sholder and written by David Chaskin. The Walshes have recently moved into Nancy Thompson’s former home, five years after the apparent defeat of Freddy Krueger. Their teenage son, Jesse, experiences a terrifying dream where he is pursued by Krueger, who is driving a school bus. Upon waking up, Jesse blames the nightmare on the unusually hot room. Later at school, Jesse hangs out with his friend Lisa, towards whom he has romantic feelings but is too shy to act on them. During gym class, Jesse gets into a scuffle with another boy named Grady and as punishment, they stay behind after class where they surprisingly become friends. Lisa visits Jesse at home and discovers Nancy Thompson’s diary which details her own eerily similar nightmares.
Strange occurrences start happening around the house including small fires that eventually lead to their pet birds spontaneously combusting. Accusing him of causing these disturbances, Jesse’s father confronts him about his actions. That evening, Jesse experiences a terrorizing dream with Freddy, who commands him to commit murder. As the nightmares escalate, Jesse tries multiple tactics to stay awake but none prove successful. Eventually, he starts roaming the streets at night. One particular night, while ordering a beverage at a homosexual establishment, Schneider catches Jesse and disciplines him with laps around the school grounds. However, while Schneider is in the shower following his punishment, an unknown entity drags him into the steam and attacks him.
