A Quiet Place Part II (2020)

A Quiet Place Part II (2020) is a post-apocalyptic horror film written and directed by John Krasinski. It serves as a continuation of the first film, following the survival journey of the Abbott family as they navigate their terrifying new reality filled with blind aliens who hunt using sound. One eventful day during a Little League Baseball game in their fictional hometown of Millbrook, New York, the Abbotts and other bystanders witness a strange object plummeting from the sky. Soon after, powerful extraterrestrial creatures emerge and begin massacring the townspeople. These armored and swift beings possess hypersensitive hearing and attack anything that makes noise. More than a year later, Lee and Beau are among countless victims killed by these creatures. However, Regan has discovered their weakness – high-frequency audio feedback – and uses her cochlear implant to transmit it through a portable microphone she created.

After losing their home, the family searches for any remaining survivors. While exploring a fenced-off area, Evelyn accidentally triggers a loud alarm, which alerts the dangerous creatures. In their attempt to escape, Marcus gets caught in a bear trap and his screams attract one of the creatures. Regan and Evelyn quickly take down the creature, free Marcus, and find shelter in an abandoned steel foundry. They are then rescued by Emmett, an old acquaintance who has been living in a soundproof underground hideout since losing his own family. However, despite their past relationship, Emmett is hesitant to assist them any further due to his changed outlook on life. As they settle in, Marcus hears the song “Beyond the Sea” playing on the radio and Emmett reveals that it has been playing nonstop for four months. Regan sees this as a clue that other survivors may be on an island southeast from their location and proposes using her hearing aid’s high-frequency noise as a weapon to reach them if she can make it to the island’s radio tower within a day’s journey.
