Act of Valor (2012)
Act of Valor (2012) is an American action film, directed and produced by Mouse McCoy and Scott Waugh, and written by Kurt Johnstad. In Manila, a Chechen terrorist known as Abu Shabal assassinates the United States Ambassador to the Philippines. His violent actions also result in the deaths of dozens of children at an international primary school in a bombing. Shabal manages to escape to an Indonesian training camp. Meanwhile, in Costa Rica, CIA officers Walter Ross and Lisa Morales combine their intelligence on their target, drug smuggler Mikhail ‘Christo’ Troykovich. During their mission, Christo’s men kill Ross and capture Morales who is then tortured while imprisoned in a jungle compound. On the home front at Coronado, Bandito Platoon SEAL Team 7 is reunited with their loved ones. Lieutenant Rorke shares his news of his wife’s pregnancy with Chief Dave and they organize team bonding activities until their next deployment.
A team from the platoon, comprising Rorke, Dave, Wiemy, Mikey, Ray, Sonny, and Ajay is sent to Costa Rica to assist Morales. The SEALs enter the jungle using HALO and hold their position outside the compound throughout the night. At daybreak, they storm the compound and eliminate multiple guards before successfully extracting Morales and a cell phone containing valuable intel. As a result of the attack, an enemy quick reaction force attempts to follow them and in response, the SEALs take control of a truck for their escape. Their pursuit leads them to use a secondary extraction point where two SWCC boats collect them. Unfortunately, Mikey sustains an injury during the operation. Meanwhile in Kyiv, Christo meets with his childhood friend Shabal. Knowing that he is being monitored by the CIA, Christo reveals that his subordinates will carry out their mission – equipping suicide bombers with undetectable explosive vests.
