Director of Varg Veum – Consorts of Death (2011), Stephan Apelgren, who is well known for his work on the popular Swedish detective series Kurt Wallander, also directed the previous installment in the series. In this film the titular character is called upon by Chief of Police Hamre to investigate a hostage situation on a farm near Bergen.
