In the crime film Training Day (2001), directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by David Ayer, ambitious police officer Jake Hoyt is assigned to work with decorated narcotics detective Alonzo Harris for a one-day evaluation. As they patrol in Alonzo’s Monte Carlo, they come across some college kids buying marijuana, which Alonzo takes and encourages Jake to smoke.
