The Office (2001–2003) is a British mockumentary sitcom that premiered on BBC Two in 2001. Developed by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, it centers around the daily lives of office employees at Wernham Hogg paper company in Slough. Gervais also stars as the main character, David Brent.
