Aliens (1986), a science fiction action film, was written and directed by James Cameron. As the second film in the Alien franchise, it serves as a sequel to the 1979 science fiction horror film Alien. After destroying her ship, the Nostromo, to escape an alien creature that massacred her crew, Ellen Ripley enters a state of stasis for 57 years aboard an escape shuttle. Upon being rescued and debriefed by her employers at Weyland-Yutani Corporation, they express doubt about her claims of alien eggs on exomoon LV-426. This is due to the fact that a terraforming colony now occupies the area. When communication with the colony is lost, Weyland-Yutani representative Carter Burke and Colonial Marine Lieutenant Gorman enlist Ripley’s help in investigating. Still recovering from her previous encounter with aliens, she agrees under one condition – that they eradicate all creatures.

On board the spaceship Sulaco, Ripley meets the team of Colonial Marines but remains wary of their android, Bishop. She recalls how another android on the Nostromo betrayed its crew to protect the alien under orders from Weyland-Yutani Corporation. After being transported to the surface of LV-426 by a dropship, the team discovers a devastated colony and two contained alien facehuggers. However, there are no signs of colonists except for a young girl named Newt. The group ventures under the atmosphere processing station and encounters passageways coated in alien secretions. Inside the station’s core, they stumble upon open eggs, deceased facehuggers, and colonists who have been turned into incubators for the aliens’ offspring.
