Amazing Stories (1985–1987), an American anthology television series created by Steven Spielberg, originally aired on NBC in the United States from September 29, 1985 to April 10, 1987. During its run, it received nominations for 12 Emmy Awards and won five. One of its first-season episodes, The Amazing Falsworth, even earned writer Mick Garris an Edgar Award for Best Episode in a TV Series. Despite these accolades, the show did not perform well in terms of ratings, placing 40th in Season 1 and 52nd in Season 2. As a result, the network chose not to renew it after its two-year contract expired. Interestingly enough, the popular science fiction film Batteries Not Included was initially conceived as a story for Amazing Stories; however, Spielberg was so impressed with the concept that he decided to turn it into a theatrical release instead.

The show drew inspiration from the iconic science fiction magazine, Amazing Stories, founded by Hugo Gernsback in 1926. The visually stunning title sequence was crafted by the renowned CGI company, Robert Abel and Associates. On March 6, 2020, a new version of Amazing Stories debuted on Apple TV+, featuring a mix of incredible, whimsical, and eerie tales that are both heartwarming and chilling. The star-studded cast includes various notable actors, actresses, and directors who made special appearances throughout the series.
