Arthur and the Revenge of Maltazard (2009)

Arthur and the Revenge of Maltazard (2009) is a fantasy adventure film, directed and co-written by Luc Besson. It is based on the third installment of Besson’s beloved children’s book series featuring Arthur.It has been two years since Arthur saved his grandparents’ home and the Minimoys from Maltazard’s evil grasp. During his holiday stay with his grandparents, the Bogo Matassalai, a fictional African society, gives Arthur various challenges to test his skills in camouflage and environmental nonviolence. After successfully completing these trials, Arthur plans to celebrate with the Minimoys. However, his father unexpectedly decides to take him and his mother back to the city. When a spider delivers a distress-call grain of rice believed to be from the Minimoys, Arthur returns to his grandparents’ house.

Despite their failed attempt to make him smaller through a telescope, he ends up falling into Minimoy Max’s bar as a drop of sap due to their vines wrapping around him tightly. While heading towards the Minimoys to investigate their situation, Arthur and Max rescue Betameche. He then follows Betameche to meet with the King and discovers that Maltazard has captured Selenia and plans on invading the human world by increasing his size. Maltazard manipulates the Minimoys into helping him complete his plan, ultimately destroying the telescope in the process.
