The Whedon storyline known as Astonishing X-Men: Dangerous (2012) centers around a Sentinel assault orchestrated by an unknown orchestrator. It is eventually revealed that the culprit is none other than the Danger Room itself, now manifesting as a robotic entity aptly named ‘Danger’. Whedon also discloses that Professor X had imprisoned Danger and forced it to serve as the controlling force of the Danger Room, much to the dismay of the X-Men.
