Goldmember has created a tractor beam powered by a special device and plans to use it to bring a meteor crashing into the Earth. For his heroic actions, Austin is knighted by the Queen of England during an extravagant event.
Though disappointed by the absence of his father Nigel Powers – a renowned spy – at the ceremony. Later that night at an after party, Basil Exposition informs Austin of Nigel’s kidnapping. The only lead they have is that the crew of Nigel’s yacht has had their genitalia painted gold. Austin turns to Dr. Evil for assistance in locating the culprit. However, their interaction is tense as Dr. Evil brings up the past incident where Nigel was absent during Austin’s graduation as “International Man of Mystery” from their British Intelligence academy. This incident greatly upset Dr. Evil as he had achieved the highest grades in their class. Nevertheless, Dr. Evil does unveil that Goldmember is responsible for the abduction, prompting Austin to journey back in time to 1975 and infiltrate Goldmember’s roller disco club located in New York City.
