Bad Boys (1995)

Director Michael Bay made his feature directorial debut with the buddy cop action comedy film Bad Boys (1995). The movie was produced by Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer. It follows the story of lifelong friends and Miami Police detectives, Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett, as they investigate the theft of $100 million worth of Mafia heroin from a secure police vault – their biggest career bust to date. However, Internal Affairs believes an insider may be involved and threatens to shut down the entire department if the drugs are not recovered within 72 hours. To aid in their search, Mike reaches out to his informant and ex-girlfriend Maxine ‘Max’ Logan for help. Max then enlists her best friend Julie Mott to assist them by getting hired as escorts by Eddie Dominguez, a former corrupt cop who may have information about the stolen drugs.

During the party, Dominguez’s boss Fouchet arrives with his henchmen Casper, Ferguson, and Noah, interrupting the festivities. In an effort to cover up the mistake of their presence at the party, Fouchet kills Dominguez and Max. Luckily, Julie manages to escape. Noah takes care of the madam who hired Julie and Max before knocking out Mike while he investigates Max’s death. Desperately trying to contact the police station, Julie requests to speak with Mike specifically, but Captain Conrad Howard forces Marcus to pretend to be him since she has never met Mike before. When Marcus and Julie are attacked by Fouchet’s henchmen at her apartment, Marcus is forced to take action and kills one of them. Eventually reuniting with Mike, they must switch identities in order to stay safe: Mike living at Burnett’s house while Marcus stays with Julie at Mike’s.
