Bad Boys for Life (2020)

Bad Boys for Life (2020), the American buddy cop action comedy film directed by Adil & Bilall, is the third installment in the Bad Boys franchise. The story follows Isabel Aretas, widow of cartel kingpin Benito, as she escapes from a Mexican prison with her son Armando. Isabel sends Armando to Miami to retrieve his father’s hidden money and take revenge on those responsible for his arrest and death in prison, with strict instructions to kill Detective Mike Lowrey last. In Miami, Mike joins his partner Marcus Burnett at the birth of Marcus’s first grandson. However, Marcus reveals his plans to retire and spend more time with his family, much to Mike’s dismay. At a party celebrating the new baby, Armando shoots Mike and leaves him in a coma for months. Displeased by Armando’s failure to follow orders and kill Mike last, Isabel scolds him but he continues to carry out his mission while Mike remains comatose.

After recovering, Mike becomes determined to exact revenge and unsuccessfully tries to persuade the now-retired Marcus to join him. This leads to a rift between the two friends. In a violent manner, Mike obtains information from an informant about arms dealer Booker Grassie’s identity. Despite Captain Howard’s reluctance, he allows Mike to join the tech-savvy team at Advanced Miami Metro Operations (AMMO), whose leader happens to be Mike’s former girlfriend Rita. During surveillance of Grassie at an arms deal, Mike becomes aware that the buyers plan to kill him and intervenes, but tragically fails to save him. Marcus receives a call from his old informant Carver Remy, who believes that the assassin is after him. In response, Marcus and Mike rush to Carver’s aid, but unfortunately he is killed upon their arrival. After getting into a physical altercation with Mike, Armando manages to escape.
