Bad Boys: Ride or Die (2024)

Bad Boys: Ride or Die (2024) is an American buddy cop action comedy film, featuring the iconic duo of Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. It is the fourth installment in the popular Bad Boys series, following Bad Boys for Life (2020). Four years after Isabel Aretas’s death, MPD Detective Mike Lowrey ties the knot with his physical therapist, Christine. However, their joyous celebration takes a turn when Marcus Burnett suffers a mild heart attack and falls into a coma. In his comatose state, Marcus has a vision of their late Captain Conrad Howard telling him it’s not his time to go. When Marcus wakes up, he becomes convinced that he is invincible. But things take an unexpected turn when news breaks that Captain Howard was involved in corruption with drug cartels. Determined to clear their captain’s name, Mike and Marcus team up with Captain Rita Secada and her new beau, mayoral candidate Adam Lockwood.

Mike and Marcus pay a visit to Mike’s son, Armando Aretas, who is currently incarcerated for the murder of Captain Howard. Armando reveals that Howard was not involved in any corrupt activities, but he had knowledge about those who were. The corrupted officials then hired him and his mother to take Howard out because he was getting too close to exposing their illegal actions. Armando offers his assistance in identifying the person responsible for Howard’s death. As the conspirators attempt to access Howard’s computer, a pre-recorded video is sent to Mike and Marcus as a precautionary measure. In the video, Howard mentions a codephrase ‘Coke bottle’ as a signal for corruption within federal and state law enforcement. The two detectives then learn that Howard had also shared information with their former hacker colleague, Fletcher.
