Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F (2024) is an American action comedy film under the direction of Mark Molloy. Thirty years have passed since the Wonder World incident, and Axel Foley remains a detective for the Detroit police, working closely with his friend, Deputy Chief Jeffrey Friedman. During a Red Wings game, Axel pursues a group of thieves who are looting the locker room, causing significant damage to the city in the process. Under pressure from the police commissioner, Jeffrey announces his retirement and suggests that Axel reconnect with his daughter Jane Saunders. Jane is now a defense attorney in LA and has been under the guidance of Billy Rosewood, a former Beverly Hills Police Officer turned PI and another friend of Axel’s. Billy contacts Axel to warn him about Jane’s safety being at risk.
It turns out he has been helping her defend Enriquez, who has been falsely accused of killing an undercover officer named Copeland. After their call, Billy is able to retrieve evidence from the vehicle where Copeland’s murder took place but is later taken by the cartel. As Axel returns to Beverly Hills, he grows increasingly concerned when Rosewood fails to reply. Upon arriving at Rosewood’s office, he discovers a group of suspicious individuals searching the premises. Acting quickly, Axel removes a page from Rosewood’s agenda but is then pursued by the group through Rodeo Drive and eventually apprehended by authorities. At the BHPD, Detective Bobby Abbott, Jane’s former flame, greets Axel and soon introduces him to his old friend and current police Chief John Taggart. Excitedly, Taggart also introduces Axel to Captain Cade Grant whom he mentored during his time as a police cadet.
