Big Hero 6 (2014) is an American animated film by Walt Disney Animation Studios and Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. Inspired by the Marvel Comics superhero team created by Man of Action, the film is set in a futuristic city called San Fransokyo (a combination of San Francisco and Tokyo). The main character is Hiro Hamada, a 14-year-old high school graduate and robotics genius who competes in illegal underground robot fights. To steer him away from this dangerous world, his older brother Tadashi, who studies at the San Fransokyo Institute of Technology, brings him to the institute’s research lab where he meets Tadashi’s friends: Go Go, Wasabi, Honey Lemon, Fred, and Professor Robert Callaghan. Here, Tadashi also introduces Hiro to Baymax – a healthcare robot he designed. Impressing the university with his microbot invention that can connect using a neural transmitter, Hiro gets accepted into the school. However, their joy is short-lived as a fire breaks out.
After Tadashi perishes in an explosion while attempting to rescue Callaghan, a funeral is held for both of them. In the midst of his overwhelming grief, Hiro unwittingly activates Baymax, and they follow the movement of Hiro’s sole remaining microbot to an abandoned warehouse. There, they stumble upon evidence of mass production of the microbots by an unknown individual wearing a Kabuki mask. This mysterious person then attacks Hiro and Baymax, but they manage to escape. Convinced that this person is responsible for Tadashi’s death, Hiro upgrades Baymax with armor and martial arts programming to seek revenge. With the help of Tadashi’s friends, they are pursued by the masked assailant through the city streets until Baymax ultimately saves them.
