Borat Subsequent Moviefilm (2020)

Borat Subsequent Moviefilm (2020) is a satirical comedy directed by Jason Woliner. It follows the story of Kazakh journalist Borat Sagdiyev, who is released from a gulag after being imprisoned for fourteen years due to his previous trip to the United States. His country’s president, Nursultan Nazarbayev, tasks him with delivering Minister of Culture Johnny the Monkey to President Donald Trump in an attempt to restore Kazakhstan’s honor. However, Borat’s plan goes awry when he is unable to get close to Trump and instead decides to give the monkey to Vice President Mike Pence. While attempting this, Borat learns that his enemy and neighbor Nursultan Tulyakbay has taken over his home and family. He also discovers he has a fifteen-year-old daughter named Tutar living in a barn on his property.

After an eventful journey on a cargo ship that took him from one corner of the world to another, Borat arrives in Galveston, Texas to find himself thrust into the spotlight as a celebrity. In an effort to stay incognito, he purchases an assortment of disguises and even gets himself a cell phone. However, his plans for a low-key welcome are derailed when he discovers that Tutar, who he was expecting to meet with Johnny, has accidentally devoured her host while hidden in his shipping crate. Shocked and horrified, Borat reaches out to Nazarbayev via fax for guidance. The response is grim – unless Borat can find a way to appease Pence, his life will be at stake. With little choice left, Borat decides to offer up Tutar as a peace offering. After receiving a full makeover, she is paraded around at a formal debutante ball where her menstrual blood makes an unexpected appearance during a father-daughter dance. Desperate to make amends with Pence before it’s too late, Borat dons his best Trump disguise and heads over to CPAC where the Vice President is rumored to be present.
