Boy Missing (2016)
Boy Missing (2016) is a Spanish mystery thriller directed by Mar Targarona and written by Oriol Paulo. The film features Blanca Portillo in the lead role. Víctor, a young boy, is discovered wandering along a country road. His mother, Patricia, a prominent lawyer known for handling high-profile cases that receive media attention, is informed of her son’s safe return. After Victor is taken to the hospital, Patricia joins him and explains that her son is both deaf and mute, using sign language as his mode of communication which may have caused his silence towards the police’s questions.
At the police station, Víctor recounts being taken by a stranger as he arrived at his school. The officers have their eyes on Charlie, a man facing financial difficulties and with an 8-month pregnant wife. Despite being questioned, Charlie cannot provide an alibi for the time of Víctor’s abduction. As a result, Patricia reaches out to her former flame and Víctor’s father, Raúl, setting off a series of events that spiral out of control.
