Breezy (1973)

Breezy (1973), a romantic drama directed by Clint Eastwood and produced by Robert Daley, follows the story of a young couple who wakes up together after a one-night stand. Edith Alice ‘Breezy’ Breezerman quickly gets dressed and steps into the daylight. Having lost her parents in a car accident and leaving her aunt’s care after high school, Breezy now roams California as a carefree hippie, spending her nights couch surfing. Meanwhile, Frank Harmon, a middle-aged wealthy man with a successful career in real estate, is saying goodbye to an overnight guest who he only humored as she left. Despite his material possessions, Frank lacks joy in his life and is still bitter about his divorce.
After escaping a disturbing hitchhiking encounter with an unstable stranger, Breezy spends the day loitering near Frank’s luxurious post-modern house, which is featured prominently in the movie. When he departs for work, she takes the opportunity to invite herself into his car and happily asks for a ride to her destination, much to Frank’s annoyance. Later that evening, Breezy returns to retrieve her guitar that she had left in his car earlier that day. Despite trying to persuade him to let her stay the night after showering, Frank declines. Undeterred by the rain, she leaves. The following night, Frank is awoken by a knock on the door from the police who had found Breezy wandering around.
