Created by Craig Wright, Dirty Sexy Money (2007–2009) was an American prime time drama series that aired on ABC from September 2007 to August 2009. The show, produced by Berlanti Television and ABC Studios, boasted an impressive executive producing team including Greg Berlanti, Bryan Singer, Matthew Gross, Peter Horton, and Josh Reims. Melissa Berman served as producer. Set in New York City, the story centers around lawyer and family man Nick George. After his father’s sudden death in a plane crash, Nick takes over as the Darling family’s attorney while also investigating the murder. As the wealthiest family in New York, the Darlings rely heavily on Nick to handle their problems. However, he struggles to balance his personal values and family life with the constant demands of the Darlings.

The powerful Darlings of New York, in the same league as the Kennedys, possess wealth, influence, and a proclivity for getting involved with undesirable characters. However, their downfall would have been inevitable if not for their lawyer Nick George, who cunningly protects them from scandals and legal troubles. Nick’s father had previously devoted himself to the family as their advisor, but Nick himself has always resisted his supposed destiny. He questions whether serving the Darlings is a blessing or a burden. The intriguing plot line of Dutch George’s mystery will unfortunately remain unsolved due to the show’s cancellation. According to creator Craig Wright in an interview with the Los Angeles Times, had the series continued, Juliet would have faced arrest reminiscent of Patty Hearst before turning her life around by becoming a drama teacher in Connecticut and settling down with the school’s soccer coach and children.
