Buddy (2003)
Buddy (2003) is a Norwegian film directed by Morten Tyldum and written by Lars Gudmestad. The film features music composed by Lars Lillo-Stenberg from the band DeLillos. It was met with positive reviews and received two Amanda Awards in 2004. The main character, Kristoffer, is a 24-year-old billboard hanger with a carefree attitude. By chance, some of Kristoffer’s video diaries end up in the hands of the producer of popular talk show ‘Karsten Tonight’ on TV2.
Soon enough, Kristoffer’s life becomes television entertainment as viewers are drawn to his unique views on his surroundings and antics with his eccentric best friend Geir and reclusive web designer Stig Inge, who has been living in the Tøyen shopping center for years. Kristoffer’s future is promising, with widespread popularity. However, sharing his life on TV has its drawbacks. As the TV industry beckons Kristoffer, his friendships suffer. Geir’s hidden truth comes to light, and Stig Inge’s personal issues are more serious than initially realized. Restoring these friendships will require great efforts from Kristoffer. He knows what he desires, but does he possess the courage to pursue it?
