Chicago Fire (2012–2024), an American drama series, was created by Michael Brandt and Derek Haas with executive producer Dick Wolf. It is the first part of Wolf Entertainment’s Chicago franchise, which revolves around various public services in the city of Chicago, Illinois. The show follows the daily lives and relationships of firefighters, rescue workers, and paramedics at the fictional Firehouse 51. Premiering on NBC on October 10, 2012, the series has aired a total of 240 episodes as of January 17, 2024. Its twelfth season was renewed in April 2023 and debuted on January 17, 2024.

The show delves into the personal and professional lives of the Chicago Fire Department members at Firehouse 51, where Engine Company 51, Truck Company 81, Rescue Squad Company 3, Battalion 25, and Ambulance 61 are stationed. When veteran Firefighter Andrew Darden passes away, tensions surface between Lieutenant Matthew Casey of Truck Company 81 and Lieutenant Kelly Severide of Rescue Squad Company 3 as they blame each other for their colleague’s death. Joining the team is Firefighter Candidate Peter Mills, who follows in his father’s footsteps against his mother’s wishes. Alongside the firefighters are paramedics Gabriela Dawson and Leslie Shay. Sadly, Shay dies in the third-season premiere ‘Always’. As time goes on, new individuals become part of the firehouse crew. Led by Battalion Chief Wallace Boden, this group faces life-or-death situations daily but remains a tight-knit family that always supports one another.
