Children of the Corn II: The Final Sacrifice (1992) is a supernatural slasher film and sequel to the 1984 original. Set in Hemingford, Nebraska, near the first film’s location of Gatlin, it follows the aftermath of the dark events that took place. Two days later, the well-intentioned residents of Hemingford decide to take in and assist the surviving children from Gatlin in starting anew. However, they are unaware that these children are returning to their cornfield where Micah, one of their cult members, has been possessed by He Who Walks Behind the Rows -the demonic entity they worship. Caught in this turmoil are city reporter John Garrett and his son Danny, who are currently on bad terms due to John’s past relationship issues. John has arrived in town to work on a story about the children in an attempt to revive his struggling career.

On his way back to town, John runs into two familiar faces – Bobby Knite and Wayde McKenzie, former coworkers who are on their way out of town. Tragically, they meet their demise in a nearby cornfield after taking a shortcut in their van. The cause? A brief yet powerful storm that sends the sharp cornstalks into a frenzy. Meanwhile, back in town John crosses paths with bed-and-breakfast owner Angela Casual and sparks fly between them. Wanting to break away from his father’s influence, Danny finds a friend in orphaned local girl Lacey. She shares unsettling information about Gatlin with him. The situation takes a dark turn when Micah brutally murders David Simpson during church services using a knife and wooden voodoo doll. The horrific act results in David bleeding to death from his head and face.
