Clear History (2013)

Clear History (2013) is a comedy TV film, directed by Greg Mottola. In 2003, Nathan Flomm (previously known as bearded and long-haired) was an opinionated and obnoxious business associate of Will Haney in San Jose, California. Haney’s company was preparing to launch a new electric car, which Flomm did not agree with being named ‘the Howard’ after Haney’s son (who was named after the hero of The Fountainhead, Howard Roark). After accepting a severance package and cutting ties with the company, Flomm’s life took an unexpected turn. The Howard became a massive success, causing Flomm to miss out on what would have been his share – a billion dollars. Ten years later, he changed his name to Rolly DaVore and moved to Martha’s Vineyard for a fresh start. There, he made new friends such as best friend Frank, former lover Wendy, and local building contractor Mr. McKenzie.
Frank surprises Rolly (also known as Flomm) with a birthday party, where he causes a commotion by punching Jaspar, the only black person in attendance. Unfortunately, Flomm’s actions ruin Jaspar’s chance at love with Jennifer, who has recently lost weight. During the festivities, Flomm hears a surprising rumor about Wendy and the band Chicago’s return to the Vineyard after two decades. Feeling left out of the loop, Flomm is upset. Meanwhile, Haney and his wife Rhonda have become wealthy and are building a grand mansion on the site of the Stumpo family home. Thankfully for Flomm, Haney doesn’t recognize him, although being on the island has become unbearable for him.
