Dante Hicks returns to work at Quick Stop ten years after the first film, only to discover that a fire has destroyed the store. This mishap was caused by his best friend Randal Graves who forgot to turn off the coffee pot before closing. With Quick Stop gone, Dante and Randal find jobs at Mooby’s fast food restaurant alongside Christian teenager Elias Grover and their manager Becky Scott. A year later, Dante plans to leave his low-paying job and move to Florida with his wealthy fiancée Emma Bunting. Her parents have offered them a home and car wash business as wedding gifts.
Fearing the loss of his closest friend, Randal’s resentment towards Dante and Emma’s relationship grows. Meanwhile, Jay and Silent Bob have trailed Dante and Randal to Mooby’s, where they now hang around outside. Despite their supposed conversion to Born again Christianity after a drug-related arrest and stint in rehab, the duo continues to sell drugs and cause trouble in the parking lot. Overcome with nerves about his upcoming wedding dance, Dante confides in Becky, who takes him up to the restaurant’s rooftop for a dance lesson. To The Jackson 5’s ABC, Dante lets go of his inhibitions and busts some moves. In the heat of the moment, he professes his love for Becky who then drops a bombshell – she’s pregnant from their one-night stand at work weeks ago.
