Clique (2017 — 2018)
Clique (2017–2018) is a British thriller television series created by Jess Brittain, starring Synnøve Karlsen and Rachel Hurd-Wood. It originally premiered on BBC Three’s online-only schedule before later airing on BBC One. Childhood friends Georgia and Holly have just started their university lives in Edinburgh when Georgia becomes involved with an elite group of alpha girls (Fay, Phoebe, Louise, and Rachel) led by lecturer Jude McDermid. Jude’s brand of feminism is captivating, much like the intelligent students she surrounds herself with. As Georgia seamlessly joins the clique, Holly is left feeling excluded. However, when Georgia’s erratic behavior begins to worry her, Holly feels compelled to follow her into Jude’s secretive circle. What awaits her is a glamorous world filled with extravagant parties and influential business people from Edinburgh. But beneath the surface lies a corrupt reality that endangers both Holly and Georgia. Meanwhile, Holly’s own troubled past threatens to emerge once again.
One year later, Holly is beginning her second year of university and resides in a shared house with Louise, Rayna, and Fraser, all passionate student activists. Her previous exposure of Solasta Finance has sparked immense interest from those around her. As she navigates through campus life, Holly becomes entangled in a highly publicized scandal involving a tight-knit group of males led by the charming Jack Yorke. Meanwhile, Rachel continues to fixate on Holly’s actions from within a secure facility.
