Creed II (2018)

Steven Caple Jr. directs Creed II (2018), an American sports drama with a screenplay by Juel Taylor and Sylvester Stallone. Adonis Creed, also known as ‘Donnie’, has bounced back after his defeat by ‘Pretty’ Ricky Conlan in 2015, winning six consecutive matches and ultimately reclaiming his beloved 1967 Ford Mustang from Danny ‘Stuntman’ Wheeler. As a renowned champion, Adonis pops the question to his girlfriend Bianca Taylor, who agrees to marry him. While Bianca suggests leaving Philadelphia to start a new life in Los Angeles, Adonis hesitates as he doesn’t want to leave behind Rocky Balboa. Meanwhile, in Ukraine, Ivan Drago- the boxer who killed Apollo Creed during their infamous 1985 match- has been struggling and yearns for redemption.

With the help of promoter Buddy Marcelle, Ivan arranges for his son Viktor to fight Adonis. Concerned for Adonis’ well-being, Rocky hesitates to support his acceptance of the challenge due to fears about Apollo’s fate. As a result, Adonis decides to leave for Los Angeles. He and his partner Bianca move into a lavish apartment near Mary Anne, Adonis’ adoptive mother and Apollo’s widow. While adjusting to their new surroundings and preparing for the upcoming match, Bianca discovers she is pregnant. To train for the fight, Adonis enlists Tony ‘Little Duke’ Evers, son of his father’s trainer Tony ‘Duke’ Evers and later Rocky’s trainer. However, with all of these recent changes in his life, Adonis becomes overwhelmed and enters the match ill-prepared, resulting in a serious injury.
