Critters 2: The Main Course (1988) is a US sci-fi comedy horror flick that marks Mick Garris’ directorial debut. On a desolate planet in outer space, the bounty hunters Ug and Lee, along with their human partner Charlie McFadden, embark on a mission to capture a deadly worm-like creature. After successfully defeating the creature, they depart from the planet. However, they soon receive new orders from Zanti, the leader of the High Council. He informs them about Krites being present on Earth and orders them to eliminate them immediately. Without delay, they head towards Earth but Ug notices Charlie’s troubled state and asks him what’s wrong. Charlie expresses his reluctance to return to Earth after two years and fears being left behind. Reassuringly, Ug assures him that there are no such intentions.
Now 15, Brad Brown is back in Grover’s Bend, Kansas, visiting his grandmother. The town quickly catches wind of his presence after the events of the first film. The Critters strike again, targeting a man dressed as an Easter Bunny and ultimately leading to his death. However, no one suspects the small creatures and instead chalks it up to a farming mishap. Meanwhile, Ug has once again transformed into rock star Johnny Steele and Lee has taken on the appearance of a beautiful model from a magazine (played by Roxanne Kernohan). As the Critters multiply and wreak havoc on the town, Lee falls victim to their trap and is devoured. This loss causes Ug to spiral into despair and revert back to his true alien form.
