Crocodile Dundee II (1988) is the second installment in the successful film series. It follows Mick Dundee and Sue Charlton’s life together in New York City. Despite Mick’s lack of familiarity with city living, he continues his adventurous ways such as blast fishing in Manhattan’s waters. Meanwhile, Sue’s writing has garnered him widespread recognition. He then starts working for Leroy Brown, an unassuming stationery salesman who tries to portray a tough guy persona. On the other hand, Sue’s ex-husband Bob takes pictures of a drug cartel leader murdering an unknown individual while on duty for the DEA in Colombia. Unfortunately, Bob is killed after sending the photos to Sue. This prompts Colombian cartel leader Luis Rico and his brother Miguel to travel to New York City in search of the incriminating evidence.
Sue is taken hostage by gangsters, prompting Mick to seek help from Leroy. He reaches out to a local street gang, who agree to create a diversion by making loud noises near the mansion’s perimeter. This successfully distracts the majority of the cartel’s guards, allowing Mick to rescue Sue. As a result of their failed attempt on Sue’s life, Rico goes into hiding and Mick decides it’s best for both of them to leave town. They head to Australia where Mick has connections and familiar territory. Upon arriving in Walkabout Creek, Mick receives a warm welcome from his friends. After gathering supplies, they retreat to his personal land known as Belonga Mick. There, Sue discovers that Mick is the legal owner of a vast plot of land which includes a gold mine.
