CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2000–2015) is an American crime drama TV series that aired on CBS from October 6, 2000 to September 27, 2015 for a total of 15 seasons. It was produced by Jerry Bruckheimer Television and later CBS Paramount Television and CBS Television Studios. Originally a collaboration with Alliance Atlantis Communications, the company’s share was acquired by investment firm GS Capital Partners (an affiliate of Goldman Sachs). The show follows the Las Vegas Police Department Crime Scene Investigations bureau’s detectives who work throughout the nights. Being the second busiest crime lab in the country, CSI officers utilize advanced scientific and technical techniques to unravel mysteries and bring criminals to justice.

In Las Vegas, Nevada, the allure of instant success draws in hopeful and naive visitors. This influx of people also attracts criminals who believe they can get away with their actions in the city. However, they are proven wrong by the dedicated night shift Crime Scene Investigations unit of the Las Vegas Police Department, headed by Dr. Gill Grissom. Working alongside Grissom is his second-in-command Catherine Willows, a former stripper and single mother with a natural instinct for police work. Together with their team of skilled investigators, they tackle complex cases using advanced scientific tools to uncover valuable evidence from unlikely sources. In a city full of false promises and deceptions, these Crime Scene Investigators strive to uncover the truth and seek justice through irrefutable evidence.
