One week after the events of the first film, archaeologist Carl Bugenhagen discovers that Damien is still alive. He enlists the help of his friend Michael Morgan to deliver a box containing the Seven Daggers of Megiddo – necessary for Damien’s demise – to his new guardian. Initially doubtful, Morgan eventually believes Bugenhagen after seeing a depiction of Damien on a mural at a local ruin called Yigael’s Wall. Sadly, both men are buried alive when the ruins unexpectedly collapse. Seven years later, 12-year-old Damien is residing in Chicago with his aunt and uncle, Ann and Richard Thorn.
Damien and his cousin Mark have a strong bond and are both attending a military academy. However, their relationship is disapproved of by Richard’s Aunt Marion, who believes Damien to be a negative influence on Mark. She even goes as far as to threaten to remove Richard from her will if he does not separate the boys. Tragically, late one night Marion suffers a fatal heart attack after being startled by a raven in her room. In the days that follow, strange events begin to occur within the Thorn family. A photojournalist attempting to interview Richard about Yigael’s Wall is blinded by a raven attack and then run over by a truck. A senior manager at Thorn Industries drowns in a frozen lake, and two other employees are killed by toxic fumes due to an unforeseen gas leak at one of the company’s factories.
