Destination Wedding (2018), an American romantic comedy-drama written and directed by Victor Levin, follows two middle-aged individuals, Frank and Lindsay. They meet at the airport before their flight and engage in an argument. As fate would have it, they end up sitting next to each other on the plane – a cramped 8-seater. To their annoyance, they discover that they are both headed to the same destination wedding in Paso Robles. What’s more, they are not strangers to each other – Frank’s half-brother is the groom Keith, who also happens to be Lindsay’s ex-fiancé from six years ago. Upon arriving at Paso Robles, they find out that they will be staying in adjacent rooms at an inn. During their journey to the inn, Frank confesses that he has no desire to attend the wedding while Lindsay hopes to find closure from her past relationship with Keith.

At the rehearsal dinner on Friday, Frank and Lindsay, who respectively handle marketing for J.D. Power and Associates and work as a prosecutor, discuss their fellow guests as they are seated next to each other without any other company. Frank shares his negative views on his family members and their troubled past, while also expressing criticism towards his job. The following day, instead of participating in planned activities such as wine tasting before the wedding that evening, Frank and Lindsay choose to spend their time talking with each other. During their conversation, Lindsay reaffirms her love for Keith, which Frank struggles to understand why she hasn’t moved on from. He declares love as futile, while Lindsay argues that it holds value. In addition to discussing their own personal lives, they continue to criticize others at the wedding throughout the evening.
