Dexter: New Blood (2021 — 2022)

Dexter: New Blood (2021–2022) is an American continuation of the hit show Dexter, created by original series showrunner Clyde Phillips and directed by Marcos Siega. The story takes place ten years after the original series finale, ‘Remember the Monsters?’ which aired in 2013. It premiered on Showtime on November 7, 2021 and was initially intended to be a standalone miniseries. However, it was announced in February 2023 that a second season is in the works, focusing on Dexter’s son Harrison and will air at a later date.

After feigning his demise a decade ago during a deadly storm, Dexter Morgan relocated to the fictional small town of Iron Lake in upstate New York. To conceal his true identity, he goes by the alias Jim Lindsay and works as a clerk at a local outdoor gear shop. In addition to managing his dark urges as a vigilante serial killer, Dexter has also embarked on a romantic relationship with the town’s police chief, Angela Bishop. Though she is no longer alive, Dexter often converses with his late sister Debra in his mind. However, in the series premiere, Dexter’s son Harrison unexpectedly shows up from his past life, bringing with him unknown intentions. As unsettling events unfold in Iron Lake, Dexter becomes increasingly worried that both he and his son may succumb to their inner ‘Dark Passenger’.
