Nightwing and Robin (2015), the 45-second short film, takes place during the events of Justice League: Throne of Atlantis in the DC Animated Movie Universe. In response to Batman’s call, the two lead characters are tasked with locating and apprehending Scarecrow, who had aided the Justice League. While Jason O’Mara reprises his role as Batman in this story, only his voice is heard, leaving Nightwing and Robin without any lines. Additionally, Talon (who will later appear in Batman vs. Robin) makes a brief silent appearance in the movie.

Superman: Unbound (2013) is an animated direct-to-video superhero film based on the 2008 comic book story arc Superman: Brainiac by Geoff Johns. The 17th installment in the DC Universe Animated Original Movies, it debuted with a preview attached to Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 2.
