In the made-for-television film Scooby-Doo in Arabian Nights (1994), produced by Hanna-Barbera, Scooby-Doo and Shaggy are hired as royal food tasters for the young Caliph upon arriving in Arabia on a magic carpet. Their insatiable appetites lead to no food being left for the Caliph and an angry reaction from him and the Royal Chef. In order to avoid getting caught, Shaggy disguises himself as a harem girl and catches the eye of the Caliph, who is searching for a bride.
