An American thriller film, The Weekend Away (2022), follows London-based new mother, Beth, as she travels to Croatia with her best friend Kate. Beth confides in Kate about the monotony in her marriage and their night out ends with the discovery of Kate’s disappearance. While the police are uninterested, Zain, the helpful taxi driver who drove them to a club, assists Beth in finding her missing friend. As suspicions arise and more clues are discovered, it is revealed that the men from the club were actually hired con men who drugged and robbed their clients.
