Do You Like Hitchcock? (2005)
Do you enjoy the made-for-TV giallo movie, Do You Like Hitchcock? (2005) directed by Dario Argento? This film pays tribute to the renowned thriller director Alfred Hitchcock. Giulio, a film student, observes his attractive neighbor, Sasha, and studies Fritz Lang’s movies for his thesis. While at the video store, he crosses paths with Sasha and another woman named Federica as they both try to rent Hitchcock’s Strangers on a Train. A friendship blossoms between the two women. The next day, while riding his bicycle, Giulio sees Sasha and Federica having a secretive conversation by a fountain.
Later that night, an intruder enters Sasha’s apartment using a key and kills her mother with a brass pestle. Giulio is disturbed by the police investigation questions as they inquire about Sasha. After reading about Sasha Zerboni in the newspaper, Giulio shares with his girlfriend Arianna his theory that Sasha and Federica have a pact like the one in Strangers on a Train. Across the street, he discovers a team cleaning up the crime scene. From the mailbox, he takes a bank statement showing nearly 1 million Euros in the Zerboni account. Later, at home, his mother mentions her new fiancé. When Sasha comes back, the head of the cleaning crew informs her about Giulio’s visit.
