Dog Days (2018)
Dog Days (2018) is an American romantic comedy film that takes place in Los Angeles, California. The heart-warming stories of five different characters and their canine companions are all intertwined in this city. Elizabeth, a well-known morning show host, has a disastrous interview with former football player Jimmy. However, despite the mishap, her boss sees potential and decides to hire Jimmy as her co-host due to the high ratings. Meanwhile, Tara spends her days at a coffee shop chatting with her shallow friend Daisy who works as a dog-walker. Tara’s heart belongs to Dr. Mike, the friendly (albeit arrogant) veterinarian. But when she meets Garrett, the introverted owner of an animal care center, she finds it difficult to express her feelings for him. Finally, there’s Grace and Kurt, a married couple anxiously awaiting their adoptive daughter Amelia’s arrival and struggling to prepare for parenthood.
Moving into her new home with her new parents, she doesn’t seem entirely content. Dax, a young adult trapped in a teenager’s body and frontman of the aspiring rock group Frunk, is tasked with caring for his sister Ruth’s dog after visiting her and her husband Greg. This proves to be a challenge as his apartment complex does not permit pets. Meanwhile, Walter, an elderly widower, loses his own dog when it wanders off. Fortunately, his regular pizza delivery driver Tyler offers to help track down the missing pup. As time passes, complications arise as Elizabeth and Jimmy develop feelings for each other while working together. Eventually, they start dating only for Elizabeth to discover from her makeup artist that Jimmy has been offered a position hosting a show on another network.
