Due Date (2010)

Due Date (2010), an American black comedy road film, follows the journey of Peter Highman, a successful architect who is rushing to get home from Atlanta to Los Angeles for his wife Sarah’s impending delivery. Along the way, he meets Ethan Tremblay with his dog Sonny, who is on his way to LA to pursue an acting career and scatter his father’s ashes at the Grand Canyon. However, after a misunderstanding involving the words ‘terrorist’ and ‘bomb’, both men are kicked off their flight. With Peter missing his wallet and placed on the No Fly List, he reluctantly agrees to ride with Ethan. While stopping for marijuana, they realize they are running low on funds. In an attempt to get money from Peter’s wife, they run into complications when Ethan used his stage name for the wire transfer instead of his legal name. This results in a heated altercation at Western Union.
After a night at a rest stop, Peter leaves Ethan behind and heads out on the road. However, he soon realizes that he forgot to unload the ashes of Ethan’s father before leaving. Faced with a moral dilemma, Peter ultimately decides to turn around and go back for the ashes. To cover up his sudden absence, he tells Ethan that he went out to buy breakfast. In order to get some much-needed rest after a sleepless night, Ethan takes over driving duties while Peter dozes off. Unfortunately, Ethan also falls asleep at the wheel and crashes the car. In need of assistance, Peter calls his friend Darryl who arrives to help them. Initially, Peter plans to part ways with Ethan but Darryl convinces him otherwise. They all end up at Darryl’s house for some rest. During their conversation, Ethan stumbles upon some hints that make him question Sarah’s faithfulness, causing Peter to doubt her pregnancy timing.
