Entourage (2015) is an American comedy film that continues the story of the same-titled HBO television series. Shortly after the show’s finale, Vincent Chase throws a celebratory yacht party with his close friends E, Johnny, and Turtle by his side. Looking for a new career direction, Vince reaches out to his former agent-turned-studio head Ari Gold, who offers him a lead role in his latest production. Vince agrees on one condition – he wants to direct as well. Now, eight months have passed and Vince’s directorial debut, Hyde, is facing financial troubles with an overspending of $15 million. As they need more funds to complete the film, Vince turns to Ari and asks him to secure an additional $10 million. Despite being hesitant, Ari flies to Texas to meet with the movie’s co-financiers Larsen McCredle and his son Travis in hopes of convincing them to invest further in the project. Larsen ultimately sends Travis back with Ari to Los Angeles for a private screening of the film.
Initially hesitant about the rough cut, Vince decides to cancel the screening due to concerns that it won’t be well-received. However, he later gives Ari and Travis a copy of the film for their viewing. Both Ari and Travis are pleased with the movie, but Travis insists that scenes featuring Vince’s brother, Johnny ‘Drama’ Chase, be removed or he will withhold additional funding. Without giving a response, Ari puts post-production on hold. Desperate for a solution, Vince and Eric ‘E’ Murphy visit Travis, only to be met with his disappointment in Vince’s performance and his demand for the entire film to be redone with a new lead and director. To make matters worse, studio CEO John Ellis removes Ari from the project.
