The Hand (Wong Kar-Wai). During his visit to Miss Hua, a prestigious call girl from the 1960s, timid dressmaker’s assistant Zhang overhears sounds of intimacy while waiting in her living room. Despite feeling drawn to her, he knows that their vastly different backgrounds prevent them from finding common ground. Once her client departs, she invites Zhang to join her and promises to provide him with something to remember her by. She hopes that he will think of her while creating her clothing designs.
Equilibrium (Steven Soderbergh). In 1955, Nick Penrose, an advertising executive, confides in his psychiatrist Dr. Pearl about a recurring dream he’s been having. In the dream, a stunning naked woman appears in his apartment. As they delve into the root of Nick’s stress and why it may be taking on an erotic form, the pressure at work weighs heavily on him.
The Dangerous Thread of Things (Michelangelo Antonioni). Christopher and Cloe, a couple bored with their surroundings, decide to go for a walk near a resort on the coastal outskirts of Tuscany. While dining at a beachfront restaurant, they meet Linda, an alluring young woman. She mentions that she resides in a dilapidated medieval tower nearby. Intrigued by this, Christopher decides to pay her a visit. Later on, as he is leaving the tower, he unexpectedly runs into both women on the beach, both sans clothing.
