EuroTrip (2004)
The American sex comedy film EuroTrip (2004), directed by Jeff Schaffer, follows Scott ‘Scotty’ Thomas after he’s dumped by his girlfriend Fiona following their high school graduation in Hudson, Ohio. That evening at a party, the band performs a song exposing Fiona’s affair with the lead singer. Drunk and angry, Scotty reads an email from his German pen pal, Mieke (or ‘Mike’), offering sympathy and suggesting they meet in person. Cooper warns Scotty that Mieke may be a sexual predator, causing Scotty to warn Mieke to stay away. However, Scotty’s brother Bert later informs him that ‘Mieke’ is actually a common German feminine name.
Scotty realizes his mistake and develops feelings for Mieke. He attempts to contact her, but discovers she has blocked his email. Undeterred, Scotty plans a trip to Europe with Cooper to find Mieke and make amends in person. During their journey, they make friends with a Manchester United football hooligan group, led by Mad Maynard, in London. The next morning, Scotty and Cooper wake up on a bus headed to Paris with the hooligans. In Paris, they meet up with their classmates Jenny and Jamie, who are touring Europe together. The fraternal twins decide to join Scotty and Cooper on their quest to find Mieke in Berlin.
