Everyone Says I Love You (1996)
Everyone Says I Love You (1996) is a musical film created by Woody Allen. Djuna Berlin, also known as D.J., acts as the narrator for the stories within the lavish and inclusive Park Avenue household she resides in. This home was formed through the union of her mother, the ever-dedicated activist Steffi, and Bob Dandridge, a lawyer. The only current issue in this household is Scott Dandridge, Bob’s son from his previous marriage, who has taken on conservative views. Steffi and Bob’s two children together, teenage Lane and Laura Dandridge, are inseparable but may run into conflict as they both have feelings for a boy they frequently see in their neighborhood. Skylar Dandridge, Bob’s other child from his first marriage, is enamored with Holden Spence – an employee at her father’s firm.
However, Holden lacks romantic experience and turns to D.J. for assistance in planning a memorable proposal for Skylar. Skylar, a bit of a neophyte in love, may see possibilities other than the steady Holden due to Steffi’s efforts to help the less fortunate. Meanwhile, D.J. avoids serious relationships and discusses her father, Paris-based writer Joe Berlin, with her family. Joe’s recent breakup with Giselle has him questioning his love life once again. D.J. believes she knows someone who would be a perfect match for Joe based on insider knowledge and shares this information with him, despite the woman being married – a detail that holds no weight in this particular situation.
