Fast & Furious (2009)

The action film Fast & Furious (2009), directed by Justin Lin and written by Chris Morgan, follows Dominic Toretto and his crew as they hijack fuel tankers in the Dominican Republic. When Dom suspects they are being pursued by the police, he leaves behind his girlfriend Letty to protect her. However, months later, Dom receives news from his sister Mia that Letty has been killed. He travels to Los Angeles for her funeral and discovers traces of nitromethane at the crash site. To find out who is responsible, he pressures a local mechanic into revealing the buyer’s name, David Park. Through this information, Dom learns that a green 1972 Ford Torino Sport was used in the crime. At the same time, FBI agent Brian O’Conner is on a mission to locate a mysterious drug lord known as Arturo Braga; his investigation also leads him to Park.

After arriving at Park’s apartment, Dom wastes no time in dangling him out the window until Brian shows up. Thanks to Brian’s quick actions, Park agrees to become an informant for the FBI and invites Brian to a street race. For his ride, Brian chooses a sleek 2002 Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 from the impound lot while Dom opts for his classic 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS. During the race, Ramon Campos and Gisele Yashar inform them that whoever wins will join their team of heroin traffickers working between Mexico and the United States. Despite using nitro to gain an advantage, Brian is ultimately defeated by Dom’s maneuver that causes him to lose control of his car. However, Brian uses his authority as an FBI agent to arrest one of the other drivers, Dwight Mueller, and takes his spot on the team.
