Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (2019)

Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (2019) is an action comedy film directed by David Leitch and written by Chris Morgan, Drew Pearce, and Morgan himself. It is the first spin-off in the Fast & Furious franchise, taking place after the events of The Fate of the Furious (2017). MI6 agent Hattie Shaw and her team are tasked with retrieving a dangerous virus known as “Snowflake” from terrorist group Eteon in London. However, their mission is ambushed by Brixton Lore, a cybernetically-enhanced ex-MI6 agent now working for Eteon. Despite Brixton killing all of Hattie’s teammates and framing her for their deaths, she manages to escape with Snowflake inside her body. Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw, both former government agents, are reluctantly forced to team up to locate the missing virus after being informed about it at a CIA base in the Leadenhall Building. Deckard then heads to Hattie’s apartment for information, only to be attacked by Eteon operatives.

Meanwhile, Luke successfully locates Hattie and brings her to the CIA offices after a brief struggle. Upon Deckard’s arrival, it is revealed that Hattie is his sister and the office suddenly comes under attack from Eteon forces. Brixton, whom Deckard recognizes as a former colleague turned enemy he believes he killed, takes Hattie captive. In pursuit, Luke and Deckard manage to rescue Hattie and escape Brixton during a daring car chase. However, their actions are twisted by Eteon’s control of global media, branding them as criminals. The trio then seeks out Professor Andreiko, the creator of Snowflake, where they discover its original purpose was to efficiently deliver vaccines and prevent Eteon from using it to wipe out humanity. In order for Hattie to survive with the dormant virus still inside her, she must either be cremated or undergo extraction using a specialized device located at Eteon’s facility in Chernobyl, Ukraine.
