Faster (2010) is an American action thriller directed by George Tillman Jr. Upon his release from prison, James ‘Jimmy’ Cullen retrieves a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle, a gun, and a list of names. He then heads to a telemarketing office in Bakersfield, California where he kills Prescott Ashton, and proceeds to visit Roy Grone for more names. Detectives Cicero and Humphries are hot on Cullen’s trail, while hitman ‘Killer’ is also hired to take him down. Cullen manages to track down the next name on his list, Kenneth Tyson, who is known for producing personal snuff films. After eliminating Tyson, Cullen engages in a gunfight with Killer before making his escape. This event triggers a change in Killer’s mindset as he begins to see the task as more than just business. In fact, he even proposes marriage to his girlfriend Lily.

Humphries and Cicero dig into Cullen’s history and uncover evidence that he was betrayed during a robbery. Cicero recognizes him from a video of his half-brother Gary’s demise, recorded by Tyson. The footage shows an unknown man shooting Cullen in the head, but he luckily survives thanks to a metal plate implanted in his skull. Seeking closure, Cullen pays a visit to Nan Porterman, his ex-girlfriend who is aware of his vendetta against those involved in Gary’s death. Despite confessing to terminating their unborn child and starting a new family, Nan wishes him well. In Nevada, Cullen takes revenge on Hovis Nixon, the bouncer responsible for Gary’s death, by stabbing him at a strip club – though Nixon manages to survive. When Humphries and Killer receive news of Nixon being hospitalized, they anticipate that Cullen will return to finish the job – prompting them to converge at the hospital.
